StickDots

Stick Dots" is a modern take on the classic lines and boxes game, crafted as part of the VFS PG25 developed in Unity for our class project. This strategic and engaging game challenges players to draw lines and capture squares, offering a blend of nostalgic gameplay and modern features that appeal to both casual and competitive gamers.

My Roles

My primary role on our team was Project Manager on Stick Dots project, although I also served as a programmer. My responsibilities included:

Project Managment

  • Team Coordination: Managed and coordinated a diverse team of contributors in both backgrounds and skill sets, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among all members.

  • Task Management: Utilized a ticketing and point system to assign and track tasks, ensuring that all tasks were appropriately prioritized and completed on schedule.

  • Code Review: Conducted thorough code reviews with our tech leads to maintain high coding standards and ensure the quality and integrity of the project’s codebase.

  • Project Architecture: Oversaw the project architecture, making key decisions to ensure the project was scalable, maintainable, and aligned with our goals.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensured that all project deliverables met the high standards expected by the VFS PG25 class, conducting regular checks and facilitating necessary adjustments.

Multiplayer Lobby System

  • Implemented a Lobby System:

    • Developed a system where players can create or join game rooms using Photon PUN 2.

    • Managed room properties and player information to ensure smooth transitions between lobby and game scenes.

Real-time Synchronization

  • Ensured Real-time Synchronization of Game State:

    • Used Photon PUN 2 to maintain a consistent game state across all players.

    • Synchronized player actions, such as drawing lines and capturing squares, in real time.
